At Grupo CUBIC, through Cubic Estudi d’Enginyeria, we have been awarded Lot 3 — Treballs d’enginyeria solar fotovoltaica en teulada within the Acord marc per a la contractació de serveis d’enginyeria i altres serveis complementaris vinculats a projectes de generació, promoted by Energies Renovables Públiques de Catalunya, S.A. (L’Energètica).
This new milestone consolidates our position as key players in the development of sustainable energy infrastructure, and reinforces our commitment to solar photovoltaic engineering applied to urban environments, especially on public building rooftops.
Lot 3 covers a wide range of technical services that form an integral part of any professional photovoltaic project:
We develop the complete technical design of the solar installation, including structural, electrical and regulatory calculations. We guarantee both the construction feasibility and the legal compliance of each project, optimising available resources and maximising energy efficiency.
We support the entire construction process, ensuring implementation in line with the approved project and the highest quality standards. Health and safety coordination is key to preventing occupational risks and ensuring safe working environments.
We evaluate the energy potential of each available rooftop through analysis of solar radiation, shading, electricity consumption and return-on-investment simulations. This preliminary study is essential to determine the technical and economic profitability of the project.
Once the works are completed, we supervise and technically validate the installation, issuing conformity reports and ensuring that commissioning meets the established objectives.
Solar photovoltaic engineering applied to rooftops offers multiple strategic benefits for public administration and the urban environment:
Space optimisation: existing rooftops, canopies and roofs of public buildings become energy-generating surfaces without the need to occupy additional land.
Efficient self-consumption: these installations drastically reduce dependence on external sources, improving energy self-sufficiency.
Grid injection of surplus: the systems are prepared to export excess energy, contributing to the stability of the electrical system.
Reduced environmental impact: avoids greenhouse-gas emissions, aligning with the climate goals of the 2030 Agenda.
This contract is part of the strategy of L’Energètica, whose aim is to lead the energy transition in Catalonia. The focus is on achieving:
✅ A 55% reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030.
✅ Climate neutrality by 2050.
The projects awarded under this lot prioritise solar energy on public building rooftops and are a clear example of how solar photovoltaic engineering can be efficiently and unobtrusively integrated into the urban fabric.
In addition to enabling the diversification of generation sources, this strategy strengthens a decentralised and democratic energy model, where public entities lead by example.
